Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first two satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Operations Manager who will oversee the inner workings of our teams that are responsible for deploying a next-generation satellite communications service.

Overall, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations teams are functioning as smoothly and as efficiently as possible. This will include ensuring the right resources (human, financial or other) and mechanisms (policies, processes, procedures etc.) are in place and well maintained, to support the achievement of goals and objectives across all teams at Kepler.
The role will be varied and will appeal to someone self-driven with experience supporting company functions such as product, human resources, finance, office/facilities management and procurement/supply chain.

Here is a little more detail on what you will be expected to do: 

Position Responsibilities

  • Review use of software across the business for various functions and tasks including billing and order fulfillment
  • Assess administrative areas across all teams and determine a plan of action to cut wasted time on administrative tasks that will result in time and cost savings for the business
  • Implement necessary processes within the various teams, as needed, to appropriately manage internal communications, work hand-off, documentation, compliance etc.
  • Implement relevant operations metrics across all teams and manage a regular cadence of metrics reporting and analytics
  • Introduce programs and projects to deliver billing platform for Kepler services, that support both direct-to-customer and channel relationships
  • Provide manufacturing support in terms of procurement, vendor management, inventory management, and contract negotiations
  • Manage yield in manufacturing line of high technology product
  • Track long lead time item inventory levels and repurchase when required
  • Maintain our MRP/ERP system and ensure data is and remains clean and accurate
  • Work with product groups to review product workflow, supplies and logistics
  • Manage company facilities and expansion plans
  • Manage HR processes and systems
  • Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Strong technical and business acumen
  • Ability to manage administration staff
  • Experience critically appraising and implementing new business processes
  • Ability to interact with external partners etc.
  • Experience prioritizing multiple competing objectives
  • Demonstrated planning and project/program management experience
  • Experience in a small company and exposure to electronics manufacturing
  • Bonus Points

  • Master’s or Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Experience scaling a technology startup
  • Experience with financial management
  • Experience with implementing an enterprise-wide software platform (ERP, OSS, BSS, etc.)
  • Experience negotiating contracts with vendors
  • Experience in build up of a new technology manufacturing facility
