Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first two satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

This is a highly impactful role within Kepler as we continue our pursuit of putting up the Internet in space. The right candidate must be able to effectively set benchmarks, analyze data/metrics, and understand how to prioritize to hit all recruitment SLAs. This leader will draw on extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with Hiring Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing to offer negotiation, for multiple junior to senior roles within all teams - though predominantly engineering roles.
  • Conduct thorough discovery meetings with the hiring managers, detailing position needs, and clarifying expectations
  • Experiment with different sourcing techniques to attract top talent, and to build and nurture a pipeline of candidates
  • Conduct regular follow-up meetings with managers to determine effectiveness of candidate recruiting
  • Collaborate on process improvements, system implementations, interview guides, etc.
  • Stay up to date within the community by attending job fairs, meet-ups, and talent events
  • Create an EVP and lead a talent branding initiative to position Kepler as an employer of choice in the Toronto tech market
  • Develop and report hiring KPI to executive team
  • Manage a support team for HR generalist work including onboarding program, benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations
  • Maintain a pulse on the culture of the organization and proactively address culture building opportunities
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or engineering
  • 5+ years experience recruiting for specialist and generalist roles sourced through a variety of channels
  • Analytical mindset and are adept at leveraging data to inform decisions
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, leadership and mentoring
  • Experience leading and managing people in a professional environment
  • Experience managing a HRIS and ATS
