Licensing & Regulatory Specialist

Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first two satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

You will be responsible for FCC comments and international lobbying comments, interfacing with respective administrations to explain Kepler’s system and ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant regulations. In addition, you will work with the team to identify risks in ongoing developments at the ITU / CITEL / CEPT / FCC. This will include interfacing with the engineering team to understand the technical implications and drafting public responses or comments.

Other duties may include assisting the team with coordination work, review of inbound coordination requests as well as assessing newly filed systems for interference potential, link budget analysis and competitive concerns.

As part of your role you will:
• Garner an understanding of how international regulations can provide both risks and benefits for commercial satellite development.
• Contribute research to guide the strategic direction of the company
• Develop industry and government contacts, which can be leveraged to pursue strategic priorities
• Lobby for Kepler's interest by writing and publishing comments on international proceedings  

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and a second language, with exceptional ability to write and present formal documentation
  • Completed JD, LLB with two years experience in the practice of law
  • Bachelors in Physics/Math/Science/Engineering
  • Self-driven with the ability to focus in an open-concept or remote work environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skill required
  • Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of a second or third language of high value
